Francesca McConchie (lovelyfrancesca on Instagram) lives in Walthamstow, north east London, with her husband Iain and their children: Pablo, seven, and Indiana, four. She runs a baking business, Cake of Dreams.
Our mornings are … like little festivals with loud music and big breakfasts. This is when I have most of my energy and like to start things on a high.
My kids mainly wear … vintage and hand me downs, or anything with a sense of fun. I don’t buy them clothes often but they still seem to have loads. Once or twice a year I might indulge in some Bobo Choses or Mini Magpie.
I cope with clutter by … being hyperactive and fighting a constantly losing battle against it, then giving up and going on holiday because I can’t cope with clutter.
I never leave the house without … realising I have forgotten something.
When the kids aren’t looking I … chuck out all their forgotten halloween and party bag candy (sorry!).
I’ll never be able to part with my pot belly, because I can’t cut back on beer or butter.
I encourage creativity by … getting them involved in cooking all the meals, and bringing sketchbooks everywhere. We don’t allow any phone/iPad time and hardly any TV, so it’s lots of drawing and lego or going on adventures together (and lots of begging to watch TV).
I’ll never be able to part with … my pot belly, because I can’t cut back on beer or butter.
When all else fails we … turn the music up loud or collapse in a snuggle puddle.
